The acoustics are great, someone should hold a concert in there…
So, as per the normal monthly check up, I had to bring a sample to the doctor. The office I go to, they give you this little cup, and it’s all nice and neat in a bright orange ‘biohazard’ bag, but it’s got a ziploc top, and makes me feel better about having to bring it in.
However.
Little plastic bags hold a lot of air. I tried to make it as inconspicuous as possible, by squishing all the air down, and stealthily taking it to the bathroom at work. Got it done, put it back in the back, and noticed there was a lot of air left.
Since I would have been embarrassed getting caught with it empty on the way to the bathroom, I really didn’t want to get caught with a full one on the way back to my desk.
I closed the little zipper top most of the way, and then went to squish the air out.
Only, it turns out that I had closed it almost all the way, except for one weaker part, and so when I went to let the air out, it all tried to escape out of the tiniest little spot in the zipper.
Lots of air=loud fart sound in the bathroom.
Now, I turn on the fan when I pee, just so people don’t have to hear me pee (since a couple of the offices are very close to the bathroom), and because of that, I think my face went about 5 shades of red.
Yes, add that to the many things that I have done to embarrass myself.
Now, on the plus side, the appointment went well. The heartbeat was easy to find, a steady 148, and then suddenly, this sound like the microphone had blown out.
The nurse just laughed and said that some babies just don’t like the machine, and will often push themselves off of it and head to the other side.
She found the heartbeat again, and it was 143 this time.
I’ve also gained 5 pounds this month, which is a little more than I wanted, but I guess I can just try to keep it steady and hope there’s not too many stretch marks involved.
But overall, a good visit. Got to hear the heartbeat and the kick.
